Travel responsibly and sustainably

Playing next to the well, her father's hammer in hand, young Hélène was already mining the rocks and pebbles for imaginary hidden gems. She's been wandering ever since, going from exploration to discovery, curious about anything that could explain in part the origin of the universe and the world's greatest mysteries.

Hélène grew up in Pointe-aux-Loups, cradled between the Dune du Nord, the Dune du Sud and the infiniteness of the sky. This environment sculpted the artist she was to become, centring nature at the very core of her life and her creative endeavours.

A strong desire to learn, to acquire new skills and to find a stable profession prompted her to leave the Magdalen Islands for a few years. In an attempt to push her artistic ambitions to the side, she tried to favour a more stable and reassuring lifestyle. However, the experience quickly left her with the uneasy feeling of walking next to herself - a moment of rest was needed to realign. As always, Mother Nature, marvellous healer, patched up her soul and heart and showed her a path out of this life made of reasonable compromises. Hélène finally accepted her need to express herself and dove head first into creation.

Since then, she explores, creates, questions - and gets her own answers. She shares the discoveries she makes cruising along the Islands' beaches and piers. She gathers all the delicate treasures nature has to offer, from the Point-aux-Loups' bridge to the lagoon where her father still fishes for clams.

Her boutique is an all-encompassing gem in itself. Stepping in, we can embrace in a glance everything that she's passionate about. The paintings she makes, the jewelry she creates, the photographs she takes. Every gift from nature gets turned into a new creation that adds to her ever-expanding collections: multicolour sea glass, shells, fossils, marine artifacts and other treasures brought back from her daily strolls. Everything is here, in order, safely sheltered from the passage of time.

The thirst for knowledge is still present, but Hélène now knows that the essential is quite simple, and often right in front of us. We only need to take the time to look for it. We only need to take a moment to rest.
