Discover Les Îles de la Madeleine through portraits of authentic Madelinots - Catherine Chevrier-Turbide

Portrait of a Madelinienne who is passionate about the elements

Anybody who knows Catherine will tell you she's a dynamo. A permanent smile adorns her face, she is ever ready for any eventuality, and she adores her environment. Living on Les Îles allows Catherine to indulge her two abiding passions: art  and the environment. The way she sees it, the environment is the principal shaper of the character of the Madelinots. It teaches humility as it imposes the various forms of adaptation entailed by circumstances inherent to insular living.

Because the environment is fragile, awareness of this fragility and concerns about the future are paramount to ensure that Les Îles will endure as a living environment where all components remain healthy and welcoming. When company arrives, Catherine will never fail to introduce her guests to all the facets of life on Les Îles. That includes the food, the discovery of landscapes  that reveal themselves only if you avoid the beaten paths, participation in local events and exposure to the mighty breezes that fill the lungs with invigorating sea air!

In the Madelinot's own words

« The environment that surrounds me is my outlet, my artistic inspiration. Above all, it is a place that is as wonderful as it is fragile. »
