Experiential Tourism Pilot Project

The ACCORD Recreational Tourism Cluster, in cooperation with the ÉCONOMUSÉE® Society Network, has initiated apilot projectto assist a group of businesses from the Îles de la Madeleine wishing to develop new tourism experiences. 

Recognizing the tourists' increased interest regarding their desire to experiment and live a rewarding tourism experience, both partners - in cooperation with the Service aux entreprises of Groupe Collegia - have developed a program tailored to the needs of the targeted enterprises' directors. Development of an online training course on regional products

An innovative solution to get to better know the archipelago's products.

Specially created for restaurant industry employees, tourism industry advocates, retailers that distribute the regional products of the Iles de la Madeleine and for educational and culinary institutes, the content that has been created allows the trainee to learn more about food stories, the products' features, ways to promote and serve these products, possible pairings, transformation methods and much more.

Development of a brand image for enterprises that operate in Nature-based tourism

Production of 15 videos on the Visual Arts and Crafts Circuit

These new promotional tools will further extend the outreach of this group of enterprises whose products feature quality, authenticity and distinctiveness. This project is a part of the 2012-2017 action plan developed under the ACCORD Recreational Tourism Cluster for Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine. One of the objectives of the plan is to support networks of enterprises in the development of their brand images. The budget totals $30,000. The Ministère des Finances et de l'Économie contributed an amount of $9,960 for this project, through the Programme d'appui aux secteurs stratégiques et au développement des créneaux d'excellence. Savor the Îles de la Madeleine video

This video is a marketing tool to promote food tourism. It emphasizes what is specific to the region and the strong bonds that have developed between restaurateurs, producers and processors of Les Îles de la Madeleine.

The project was part of the action plan for 2012-2017 of the ACCORD Recreational Tourism cluster of excellence for Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine, whose objective is to "assist groups of enterprises in developing a distinctive brand image". As well, it reflects one of the key commitments of the policy framework for the development of tourism on Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine: "To present regional products as important components of the tourist product and to showcase the regional cuisine".

Financial support in the amount of $ 14,900 was provided by the Ministère des Finances et de l'Économie for this project, through the Programme d'appui aux secteurs stratégiques et au développement des créneaux d'excellence. Financial partners for this project also include Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine, the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) and Le Bon goût frais des Îles de la Madeleine.
