« Merci pour tout! » Contest : a success for promoting winter!

Blanchons, Îles de la Madeleine

Îles de la Madeleine, January 13th, 2020 - Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's marketing team officially announces the closing of the contest “Merci pour tout!” (thanks for everything) and is highly satisfied with its successful outcomes.

On the occasion of Merci pour tout' film partly filmed on the Islands, Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine and its partners Hôtels Accents and Pascan joined forces to offer two people a chance to see what life looks like in wintertime on the Islands and enjoy the one-of-a-kind experience that is seal watching on the icefield — an activity that started 30 years ago on the Islands and a must for all nature lovers!

The contest was promoted through social media and the destination's newsletters as well as the social media and newsletters of Films Séville. It strongly resonated among all Islands lovers and was quite successful in promoting both the winter and the activities happening in the archipelago. The participation rate even exceeded the 1st winter contest held in 2018, it is safe to say: Mission accomplished for this second winter contest!

In total, 14,430 participants entered the contest. The participation rate exceeded the expectations of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's marketing team, whose members are pleasantly surprised by the outcomes since the main focus was the winter on the Islands.

Following the draw, the winner of the contest who will be offered a stay on the archipelago, including a round trip to and from the Islands with Pascan as well as a Winter Adventure and Seal Watching package from Le Château Madelinot (part of Les Hôtels Accents), is Mrs. Chantal Elsa Galipeau from Montreal.

Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine would like to extend warm thanks to Les Hôtels Accents and Pascan for their collaboration as well as to the contest participants for their interest in the destination during wintertime.

Seal watching will take place on the Islands from February 22 to March 10, 2020. For more information about this activity, visit: https://www.tourismeilesdelamadeleine.com/harpsealwatching.
