The contest "Crazy about The Maggies' Winter" generates curiosity and enthusiasm

Harp Seal Watching in the Îles de la Madeleine

Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's marketing team officially announces the closing of the contest "Crazy about The Maggies' Winter" and is highly satisfied with its successful outcomes.

Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine and its partners joined forces to offer two people a chance to see what life looks like in wintertime on the Islands and enjoy the one-of-a-kind experience that is seal watching on the icefield — an activity that started 30 years ago on the Islands and a must for all nature lovers!

The contest was promoted through social media and the destination's newsletters. It strongly resonated among all Islands lovers and was quite successful in promoting both the winter and the activities happening in the archipelago. When looking at the comments received from Internet users and the numerous entries for this first winter contest, it is safe to say: Mission accomplished!

The winner : Mr Roger Fiola

In total, 11,521 participants entered the contest. The participation rate exceeded the expectations of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's marketing team, whose members are pleasantly surprised by the outcomes since the main focus was the winter on the Islands - which is not well known among the majority of visitors coming from May to October.

Following the draw, the winner of the contest who will be offered a stay on the archipelago, including a ferry ride to and from the Islands with CTMA Ferry as well as a Winter Adventure and Seal Watching package from Le Château Madelinot (part of Les Hôtels Accents), is Mr. Roger Fiola from Pointe-aux-Trembles, QC.

Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine would like to extend warm thanks to Les Hôtels Accents and CTMA for their collaboration as well as to the contest participants for their interest in the destination during wintertime.

Harp seal watching will take place on the Islands from February 21 to March 18, 2019.
