The Unveiling of a new Hiking Trail and Circuit Booklet and a new Official Bike Map

Îles de la Madeleine, randonnée, mer, montagne, phare

To enhance the recreational tourism offer in Les Îles as well as the development of off-season activities, Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine is proud to launch its brand new tools—the destination's Hiking Trail and Circuit Booklet and Official Bike Map.

On the one hand, the Hiking Trail and Circuit Booklet includes more than 19 walking trails and 13 circuits running around the Islands. In fact, the archipelago is a prime location for hiking. Between the sea and the sky, hikers can travel through scenic landscapes both highly diverse and one-of-a-kind. In 2017, the launch of the 13 circuits untitled “Sentiers entre Vents et Marées” (in the spirit of the great pilgrimages) revealed a real interest for this activity. The creation of the booklet meets the need of visitors wishing to hike year-round, and mostly in September. Numerous pieces of advice and access maps are included. The Hiking Trail and Circuit Booklet was created in partnership with the Islands' Outdoor Club and Express Design.

On the other hand, the Official Bike Map includes three circuits: East (58 km), Central (29 km) and West (17 km). Two extra loops provide a great route around La Montagne (Bassin) and Havre aux Maisons. Also included for each circuit are the elevation, the various shoulders, the wind directions, the services offered to bikers and the main attractions found along the way. The Official Bike Map was created in partnership with CTMA and Ségo Communications Design.

These new tools—the Hiking Trail and Circuit Booklet and the Official Bike Map—allow hikers and bikers to better plan their stay in the Îles de la Madeleine. To that effect, these documents are available free of charge on Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's website, both in French and in English. Paper versions are also available for purchase ($3 for the Official Bike map and $17.39 for the 64-page Hiking Trail and Circuit Booklet).
