Covering about 100 kilometres, the Route verte, runs along the main highway (Route 199) that links the islands of the archipelago from one end to the other. A few stretches have not yet been completed, but the Route verte is already the premier "highway of discovery" of the archipelago.
If you find this the least bit conventional, not to worry. Les Îles offer countless ways to avoid the beaten tracks. Off-road bicycle trails have been laid out on the territory of some of the villages. The trails are indicated on the maps and clearly identified by pictograms.
