Magdalen Islands, Monday, April 27, 2026 — It was during a 5 to 7, held on April 24 and organized for and by the people of Grande-Entrée, that the organizing committee unveiled the many activities planned for the 151st Lobster Trap Setting Day in the Magdalen Islands.
In 2026, this edition is marked by programming rooted in tradition and carried by the involvement of an entire community. Attendees will be able to experience: emblematic and unifying events, tributes to workers of the sea, and a spotlight on the next generation with the archipelago's 14 new captains.
On the Vigie side, it is taking on a new dimension: that of an invisible link that unites all those who live to the rhythm of the sea. It embodies a collective commitment to watch over one another so that, as Sandra Chevarie, teacher and member of the organizing committee, mentioned, "each crew may be a beacon for the other."
The organizing committee therefore invites the population and visitors to take part in the eve's activities on Friday, May 8, as well as in the grand departure on Saturday, May 9. Welcome to all!
