A participation beyond expectations for the Spring contest of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine

The promotion team of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine officially announces the end of its "June on The Maggies" spring contest and is very proud of its success.

The contest was aiming to promote the flavours of the Îles de la Madeleine through a range of gourmet visits of all kinds during the month of June, when the Islands abound in seafood and other local products they are renowned for. A 7-night stay including air transportation and a rental car on arrival will be offered to the winners for a memorable visit that will encourage other visitors to come and enjoy the spring flavours on the Islands.

The marketing team is delighted by the exceptional participation rate of this year. To reach 30,000 participants was a realistic goal, but to it see almost double is a great surprise for the team and a reminder of the Îles de la Madeleine's appeal. No less than 59,838 unique participants entered the contest and many of them subscribed to the destination's newsletter. With the limited promotion resources of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine, the newsletter remains a great way to reach out to potential visitors that are already interested by the Islands, and its costs are quite low.

The spring contest will indeed be renewed in 2016 - it will continue to make people both happy and jealous.

Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine would like to thank Pascan Aviation and all the members that entered the "June in The Maggies" contest, as well as congratulate Mrs. Pierrette Demers and her spouse, Mr. Gérard Jeffrey, from Lévis who won a trip to the Islands. All the team wishes them an incredible, full-flavoured stay!
