The Îles de la Madeleine region is in maritime Québec, in the heart of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.

N.B.

With the exception of Entry Island, all the islands of the chain are linked by sand dunes. Route 199, which is 88 km long, runs the whole length of the archipelago. Entry Island cannot be reached by road, only by boat, but it is visible from nearly all the other islands and it makes a fine reference point.
