Did the sea, the lagoons, the hills and the archipelago Maritimes environment had seduced you during summer? Just imagine what it's like in winter! The beauty of the landscapes and the authenticity of the Madelinots is still there. It's only you who's missing! The winter at Îles de la Madeleine is an adventure which starts with a cruise in cold waters! During the months of February and March, the C.T.M.A. Group offers the opportunity to discover the region with a crossing on board of the M.V. Vacancier with departure from Matane, Gaspesia.

Because the Islands are amazing whatever the season or the weather, we are inviting you to discover winter with the immaculate landscapes where you can enjoy heaps of different activities, either stimulating and original. Doesn't matter your choice of activities, seals watching, or dog sleigh, all of these activities will allow you to discover the endlessly beauty of the landscapes.

Also, do not miss the opportunity to explore the cliffs and caves along the coastal waters of the islands by paddling in icy water in a sea kayak. You will surely enjoy an unforgettable experience!

All year round, Îles de la Madeleine are the rendez-vous for the wind and sliding sports lovers! In winter, the archipelago icy lagoons offers large space to practice this kind of sports, such as kite-skiing or buggy-kiting. To move near hiding beauties of the islands, a cross-country skiing or a snow-shoes ride would be the best way to discover them. Why not finishing the day in a winter camp in the enchanting site of the Butte du Vent.

 
 
 
 
The Seals Interpretation Center at Grande-Entrée, will make you explore the seal universe to familiarized you with the fascinating mammal. Add a visit at the Musée de la Mer to your journey, to understand better the different elements of the islanders culture. But first of all, winter in Îles de la Madeleine is a privileged contact with the Madelinots and their traditional sense of the hospitality. Take the time to discuss with fishermen who are off until the next fishing season and enjoy white-fishing in lagoons. Also, enjoy some good time by being with the Madelinots during the Carnival festivities ou the traditional Mi-Carême.
