Hiking is one of the most interesting ways to explore the islands. It is often still possible, and perfectly safe, to take yourself away to the end of some lost road that leads to who knows where. Sentier du littoralThis path, shared by7 walkers and cyclists, offers a scenic view over the sea and the town of Cap-aux-Meules. At the end, you will find a staircase with 185 steps leading to an observation point.
Sentier de la butte du ventYou can reach La Butte du Vent by the chemin de l'Église and chemin Cormier in l'Étang-du-Nord. One of the hishest elevations in the Îles de la Madeleine, it is a wonderful scenic point.
Le Parc des Buck2,6 km of wooded trails for pedestrians leading to Quinn's lake. Signs explain the park and the old mine.

Réserve nationale de faune de la Pointe de l'estThe reserve covers 684 hectares and shows most of the typical elements of the Island lanscape. With mostly sandy ground, this reserve has a maritime vegetation. Many shore birds stop over here during their migration.
Sentier de l'Anse de l'Étang-du-NordThree sites have been developed with rest areas, paths and shelters: Étang-du-Nord cove, around the fishing port of the same name, with cafe and a theatre; Hérissé cape, at the end of the chemin du Phare, facing the setting sun, and l'Échouerie, on the chemin du Gros-Cap, along the shores of the Baie de Plaisance.

Sentier Ivan QuinnThis path are on Entry Island who is located 16 km from Cap-aux-Meules. Around fifty Anglophone families live there. It's a perfect paradise for anyone who enjoys hiking and outdoor activities. Big Hill on Entry Islands is the highest point in the Magdalens, the path end. From the summit, you have a spectacular view over the whole island chin.
Sentiers de l'Île BrionBrion Island, located 16 km from Grosse- Île, is an Ecological reserve run by the government of Quebec. It's an exceptionnal site for the observation of birds and seals. Hiking on forest paths is allowed in certain off-reserve areas of the Island. It's also possible to reach the Digwell house along the cliff trail, but for visits to the interior of the reserve, you must be accompanied by an authorized guide. To get to Brion Island, you have to take boat or Zodiac excursions.
Piste cyclable et pédestre de la Belle-AnseClose to the sea and occasionally sheltered by trees, this 3,6 km gravelled path is a fine place for cycling or walking. A pause is essential at Cap au Trou to observe the most beautiful sunset on the Island.
Butte des DemoisellesDeparture :Gravel road accessible from the chemin d'En Haut.Property of the Société de conservation des Îles de la Madeleine (Magdalen Islands Conservation Association) these bare, rounded hills rise over the water and the historical site of La Grave in Havre-Aubert.
Le Sentier du BarachoisThe barachois interpretation trail (5 km) is located in the wetlands situated between the Dune-du-Nord and the lo-lying portions of Fatima. It takes you through both salt anf fresh water marshes and water meadows alive with a multitude of plants and birds.
