Air traffic to the archipelago comes through the Îles de la Madeleine airport (YGR), which is located on Havre aux Maisons Island. This airport is owned and operated by Transport Canada. Thanks to its commercial flights to and from major urban centres, it provides the Madelinots with year-round transportation and supply services. It also allows large numbers of visitors to fly to the Îles de la Madeleine, an increasingly popular destination.
Several aviation companies offer daily flights to the Îles de la Madeleine, with flights from Montréal, Québec and Gaspé. Flight time can vary from one to four hours depending on the departure city and the number of en-route stops.
The Îles de la Madeleine are also accessible for private planes. Many services are available. The Îles de la Madeleine are part of the Éco-Fly Network.

By road, the Îles de la Madeleine airport, located on Havre-aux-Maisons Island, is 10 minutes (9 kilometres) from Cap-aux-Meules, the main economic pole of the archipelago. The airport can be reached by following Route 199 to the Chemin de l'Aéroport, which ends at the airport.
By air, the Îles de la Madeleine airport is in the Maritimes/New England corridor. A bird's-eye view of the many islands, islets and lagoons is absolutely spectacular.
