Air Canada receives frequent requests from travellers with special needs, so it offers a certain number of services. By explaining your special needs when you make your reservations, you will make it easier for Air Canada to give you good service. The Customer Service personnel will be glad to describe the services offered and help you make any necessary arrangements.
Even though the company requires 48 hours' notice, they will still do everything they can to accommodate passengers who submit requests closer to departure time. Customers should plan to arrive early at the airport so that they have enough time to check their baggage, get their boarding passes and make their way to the appropriate departure gate.

Ferries
On June 14, 1999, the Canadian Transportation Agency introduced its Code of Practice for Ferry Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities. The purpose of the Code was to address consumer concerns regarding standards of accessibility on marine passenger vessels. The concept behind the code was to offer practical procedure-based solutions intended to make ferries more user-friendly for persons with disabilities.
In June 2004 the Code of Communication was launched in Ottawa. The purpose of this code is to improve the communication of transportation-related information for persons with disabilities on a systemic basis as they use the federal transportation system.
Groupe C.T.M.A. runs a ferry service between Prince Edward Island and the Îles de la Madeleine.
Groupe C.T.M.A. manages its ferry service in complete compliance with the Code of communication and the Canadian Transportation Agency's Code of practice regarding Ferry Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities.
Groupe C.T.M.A.'s commitment to excellence is clearly seen in the fact that the
N.M. Madeleine and its docks have been improved in order to offer greater accessibility and increased comfort for people with disabilities. The company provided its employees with training sessions to help them meet the special needs of some passengers.
