The promotion team of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine officially announces the end of its contest "Make your choice!" and is very proud of its success.
It's the third time that Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine asks Internet users to help them choose the cover of the Official Tourist Guide. The contest is very popular among the people who love the Islands, but it also represents a great promotion towards people who are not familiar with the destination or don't even know it exists. The photos that were suggested truly reflected the insular character, the beauty of the landscapes and the particularities of this archipelago located in the middle of the sea. Among the possible choices, there were fishing boats, a walkway leading to a beach, a cliff with a lighthouse, a girl inviting visitors to come at the beach and an aerial view of the archipelago.
With 30% off the votes compiled, the winner for the 2015-2016 Tourist Guide - as elected by Internet users - proves that the Islands' red cliffs are still very popular. This is without any doubt a strong brand image.
It should be noted that for each of the latest editions, about 10 000 people entered the contest. This year, 12 555 people made their choice! Another interesting fact: about 2 375 new people subscribed to the newsletter thanks to the contest. It is an exceptional year that demonstrates once more the strong interest for the Îles de la Madeleine. Let's not forget that the contest only lasts 10 days!
As a result of the random draw, the winner of the contest - who will receive the cookbook Le Goût des Îles - is Madam Lise Guay, from Saint-Elzéar, Québec. Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine would like to thank all the participants for their interest towards the destination.
