An online training course to become an ambassador for the products of the Iles de la Madeleine!

June 30, 2014

Taste the Îles de la Madeleine (Le Bon goût frais des Îles de la Madeleine) and the Regional Tourism Cluster are proud to unveil their new online training courses on local products.

Specially created for restaurant industry employees, tourism industry advocates, retailers that distribute the regional products of the Iles de la Madeleine and for educational and culinary institutes, the content that has been created allows the trainee to learn more about:

  • food stories;
  • the products' features;
  • ways to promote and serve these products;
  • possible pairings;
  • privileged transformation methods and much more.

Produced in collaboration with l'île imagin'air, a company specialized in the production of Web/television material, the didactic videos are hosted by Rosalie Arseneau, one of the region's sommeliers. Using a laid-back and fun pedagogical approach, the result is quite impressive! The video module also allows the trainee to learn how to quickly access the desired content, depending on his needs.

In addition to making it easier for local and nationwide distributors to get to better know the products, this new initiative contributes to promoting the destination's culinary reputation and allows the Recreational Tourism Cluster and the companies invested in this collaborative project to shine on a national level:

Interested? Become an Iles de la Madeleine product ambassador by signing up online (French only). Five videos are already available, featuring alcoholic beverages, sea products and cheeses. The interested parties will be notified by email whenever new online training content becomes available.

This project was made possible thanks to the financial participation of the ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et des Exportations du Québec, Emploi-Québec, the ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec and the Centre local de développement des Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

The financial support provided by the ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et des Exportations du Québec is part of the Programme d'appui au développement des secteurs stratégiques et des créneaux d'excellence (program for the development of strategic sectors and clusters of excellence). The purpose of this program is to mobilise and unify the actions of businesses and of their economic partners within the Ministry toward common objectives that support the development of strategic sectors and clusters of excellence.
