"A Gourmet Spree to The Maggies" : A Success Beyond Expectations

 

Îles de la Madeleine, July 14th, 2011 - The promotion team of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine officially announced the closing of its spring competition entitled "A Gourmet Spree to The Maggies" and claims to be very pleased with the success generated by it.

 

Up to now, the contest of Spring 2011 is the one that got the highest participation rate. Indeed, more than 32,000 people have registered to try to win the grand prize valued at $ 3 000.

 

Following the draw made on July 11 in the morning, Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine is proud to officially announce that the lucky winner is Mrs Gabrielle Mongeon from Gatineau, Qc. Mrs Mongeon wins a "Tastes of the Islands" cruise for 2 people on board the CTMA Vacancier, a stay of two nights at the Domaine du Vieux Couvent, a rental car for the duration of her stay, as well as meals that take place during the Wild Gourmet Spree 2012. The winner said she was very pleased to have won this award. "I've never been to the Magdalen Islands, although I think about it often. I am very happy to win this trip and I intend to enjoy it as much as I can! ".

 

Each year, Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine, in collaboration with some of its members, set up a contest to promote the Spring on the archipelago, by focusing on seafood and gourmet experiences offered in the region. This year the promotion was conducted with some 71 000 subscribers of the Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine newsletter, but also by a geomarketing distribution of promotional flyers in some strategic locations in the province.

 

Note also that the precious partnership with Le Québec maritime has increased the visibility of the contest by making the distribution of over 180,000 promotional flyers specific to the cotest in the Maritimes and the northeastern United States. The contest was also part of the viral promotion aired last May.
