New Cycling Circuits and Hiking Trails Map

Just in time for the beginning of the new tourist season, Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine presents its brand new Cycling Circuits and Hiking Trails Map.  This inaugural edition, published in response to popular demand, suggests a dozen particularly attractive biking and hiking trails.  It is important to note that, according to the latest statistics compiled by Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine, hiking and cycling are among the main attractions for visitors coming to the Magdalen Islands.

In all, the new Cycling Circuits and Hiking Trails Map proposes five trails for hiking and seven for walking. Each circuit is presented with a short description, its own map and a mine of useful information such as the departure point, total length, type of trail, type of surface, location of steep hills and various attractions.

The Map includes a list of available services presented in a dozen categories representing the main sectors of the tourist industry.   It also clearly identifies the locations of establishments close to the Route verte, such as certified “Welcome Cyclists !” facilities, members of the professional adventure tourism network,  Aventure Écotourisme Québec, and agritourism businesses that are members of the  “Bon Goût frais des Îles”, the archipelago's association of agricultural producers and restaurant owners.

This handy companion for cyclists and hikers uses colourful graphics reminiscent of wind, sea and sand, with bright frames that clearly set off individual maps. Detailed cartography shows the precise location of cycling trails, walking paths, attractions and services.  Hikers and bikers, whether beginners or seasoned experts, will appreciate the  type of paper used as well as the fact that the map is pocket-sized, simple to read and easy to slip into a bike bag or backpack.

The Cycling Circuits and Hiking Trails Map was designed to be an indispensable guide for those who wish to explore the archipelago on foot or on two wheels.  Thanks to the strong participation of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's members, 30,000 copies are now available in both official languages.

The Map is available from Tourisme Québec at 1-877-BONJOUR or at the Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine office.  For more information, please contact us at 1-877-624-4437 or e-mail to .
