Cultural landscape: Les Îles in so many words

The Réseau muséal of Les Îles (museum network) proposes a cultural journey through no less than 12 iconic landscapes. They have been chosen for their photogenic qualities as well as their heritage value.

12 interpretation modules

On each of the sites, there is an interpretation module with superb pictures. Some are recent while others go back in time. There are also some small literary treasures written between 1811 and 2009.

12 downloadable stories

The experience has a lot more to offer: a voice, a tone, a unique accent and a touch of humour. Listen to the stories invented for each site by Nicolas Landry. (The audio files last 5 to 8 minutes each).

A narrated lexicon highlights and demystifies Madelinot regional expressions.

(...) The wind blows with a force that shakes the floor boards of Aimé's house and rattles the dishes stacked on the shelves. The oil lamps project dancing shadows on the walls of the kitchen and one wonders if the roof is about to be torn away. In the bay, the boats pitch and bob dangerously. Minds are on the alert and the prayers are for the storm to relent. (...)
